Good nutrition is critical in supporting older adults living well in their own homes, therefore having a consistent standard for the nutritional quality of meals is essential. The National Meal Guidelines adopt a consistent approach to enhancing the nutrition, taste, variety and presentation of meals provided to our clients.
All of our meals are specially designed by dieticians to ensure they comply with the national guidelines. Our service supplies both hot and frozen meals.
Our hot meals are cooked fresh each day and supplied locally by Adina Care. The hot meal menu rotates on a monthly basis which allows for greater variety.
Flexibility is key - It's your choice
Clients can choose to have a complete meal package delivered which consists of a main meal, soup, dessert and juice. Or they can choose individual components. During the warmer months, you may also choose to add a salad or a sandwich to your meal plan.
Our frozen meal menu has a wide variety of beef, lamb, pork, chicken and seafood dishes. Clients can also choose from our petite meal range ensuring less wastage for smaller appetites.
'Let's go Eat' - Meal Vouchers
'Lets Go Eat' is a new initiative launched by Cootamundra Meals on Wheels to provide clients of the service with the opportunity to purchase a Meal Voucher to spend at a participating business.
'Lets Go Eat' enables clients to be more social, active and engaged in the community. Meal Vouchers can be purchased at the cost of $8.00 and can be redeemed at the Cootamundra Ex-Serviceman's Club, the MAIN CAFE at Adina Court and the Outback Bakery, for the value of $12.00.
Meals on Wheels facilitates client choice, independence and wellbeing. This new aspect of our service delivery will promote the social interaction of our clients, allowing them to stay connected to their community, reducing social isolation and enhancing their quality of life.
